General Manager wanted
Practicum Theatre, a dynamic, London-based new writing company, are establishing a new creative partnership opportunity for those interested in developing a career in Theatre Management or a related field.
Working to help us roll out a full and exciting 2007 season, you will be a vital member of the Senior Management Team. You will be responsible for managing volunteer interns including an Administrative Assistant and a Fundraising Support Assistant as well as relevant freelance staff, colleagues and artists. You will be a highly motivated individual with at least 1 years experience in a similar role or educational equivalent, and you will have an interest in the arts and specifically in developing visceral new writing for the theatre.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, budget management, fundraising, liasing with venues and artists, and overseeing the smooth running of individual Practicum Productions. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrable commitment to and understanding of, equal opportunities. You will need to have solid IT skills including experience of using Microsoft Word. Knowledge of website authoring and HTML would also be an advantage.
Payment would be on a project-to-project basis, with the General Manager entitled to a minimum of £200 per project up to a maximum of 10% of the box office net per show. The appropriate candidate(s) will be available to work from home on a per-project basis. Where travel to and from meetings is required expenses for travel will be provided.Â
